Where to get your Gelato in Milano

I'm a girl who likes special flavors gelato's, but also really appreciate the good oldi Goldies like a good lemon sorbet or a creamy dark chocolate. But with my dairy intolerance I have to start digging a little bit harder for the non dairy once in Milan, since Italy is very traditional and talking about oat milk is a shame. So with this being said: Italy you're doing great with your upcoming dairy free products, go on!!!

La Gelateria Della Musica

My Number one top spot is La Gelateria Della Musica, I got here my very first ice cream on my very first model trip to Milan, So you can say it has a special way to my heart and stomach. But than, Della Musica have been growing over the years as well - like my career - and what not everyone knows (tourists) is that you have to go to the one on the Naviglio grande, there it is, the secret is out. Locals only.

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: dairy free salted pistachio, lemon basil (non dairy free)

Rivareno Gelato

Oke must admit, this is a chain, but the ice cream is very very good, and it's still not Grom or Amorino, which are definitely not the places you should visit when in Italy. They make a lot of special flavors, but also the classics of course. As their cups say: Intenso, Naturale, Vellutato translated as intense, natural, velvety.

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: coconut and pistachio! (both dairy free)

Gelateria La Romana

So when I lived with Jeanne on the Naviglio Grande we kind of had a very chill night in, cooked gnocchi with my healthy tomato stew: https://fabdobbe4.wixsite.com/modelslovefood/post/easy-peasy-model-kitchen-dishes-tomato-stew. Here the recipe link for that one. It was pouring rain, but we were craving sweet. So we googled which Gelateria was still open around us and came across Gelateria La Romana, 5minutes running and a lot of flavors to choose from. And yes that was a good decision, even though it was pouring rain, once ew came at La Romana it was packed with people.

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: they had this special non dairy chocolate with berries creamy ice cream!

Puro & Bio

After I came from Florence after my first Gucci show, I went straight to this Gelateria. Wanted a coffee, ended up having ice cream, because they had some very odd flavors I had never seen and tried before, like ginger or avocado flavors, non dairy once!

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: Ginger ice

Pave

Pave specialise in leavened products and pastries for breakfast, alongside small patisserie where traditional desserts and modern cakes coexist. They also offer croissants, baked desserts and savoury snacks, you can also have a beer at one of their locations. But than I'm talking about their Gelateria. Their ice cream is so light that if you eat two... nothing happens! Because that, in their opinion, it is the real gelato. Pavé-Gelati&Granite offers fruit sorbets, granita and coffee/chocolate with ice cream too. Also wow look at their interior!

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: their seasonal changes!

Chocolat

Searching for the best chocolate ice creams in Milan? than go to Chocolat. They are specialized in the best Chocolate ice creams you can ever imagine. Next to chocolate ice cream they offer bonbons and pastries with obviously chocolate (dah). Their motto: "Perfection is nothing without happiness, just as a coffee break is nothing without chocolate."

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: coconut and pistachio! (both dairy free)

Gelato Fatto Con Amore

Recommended by my cuisin living in Milano, I could definitely not not place this one on my Gelateria list. The name itself says Ice cream made with love, well for me that was a yes, because I eat it with love and definitely want you to give the same experience. They got some non dairy flavors and a lot of seasonal menu changes, so make sure you check this spot near by Parco Sempione out.

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: coconut and pistachio! (both dairy free)

Cioccolatitaliani

When my friend and I were indulging ourselves with a healthy brunch at Acai sisters (The link here for my Milan healthy hotspot list: https://fabdobbe4.wixsite.com/modelslovefood/post/9x-hotspots-in-milan. We obviously had to finish off with some icecream, since we were in Italy you know... So we walked and came across Cioccolatitaliani, which I've passed a thousand times in Milan but never tried. so here we go: they asked if we wanted a chocolat fountain over our ice cream, can't say no to that right!?

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: Choco ice cream with a dark chocolate fountain

Avgvsto

When my parents were in Milan I did kind of an ice cream tour with them (don't blame me, they wanted this). So we ate something at the Naviglio Grande, which is around the corner, and ended up at this spot, cute looking, benches outside and a lot of Italians at night, which is always a good sign. We went in and had some amazing icecreams!

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: pistachio and mango.

Gelaterie Lato G

Gelateria Lato G has two locations in Milan: one in Brera the other one near by the Naviglio grande. They got some very interesting flavors like Dulche de leche, acai or peanut butter, but of course next to this they serve the classics like strawberry and chocolate.

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available!

Recommendation: peanut butter dah

OUT-OF-THE-BOX

Gelateria Out of the Box is based around the corner of Porta Venezia. This Gelateria says it already with their name, because they are definitely out of the traditional Italian box. They make Gelato's without added sugars, dairy and gluten. next to that you can get a great cup of coffee or some raw and vegan desserts!

Menu: Dairy free ice cream available and vegan cakes and pies

Recommendation: Raw vegan desserts!
