It was about to get time to make this list about the capital of my own country: Amsterdam. Amsterdam's food scenery is really changing over the past couple of years, and I'm loving it. Think about more luxury, more brunching and more healthy food. And yep that's why I had to make this list right?!
New Dutch
Maybe you might have heared about former restaurant Bolhoed? Well, New Dutch took over and made it into this genius new Prinsengracht based restaurant. I had their banana bread, which was a huge thick slice of super moist bread, with a side of a lot lot lot of fruit! loving it!
but my friend had the avocado toast, and as you can tell on the picture, that's worth it.

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Toasted banana bread
Benji's
Benji's has three kind of restaurants: Benji's, Benji's Bro and Benji's toko. They all have partly the same menu, but than all a little bit different. Toko serves dinner food with Indonesia influences, Benji's is mainly focussed on brunches aaaand Bro is new, but kind of far out of the city centre.

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Vegan banana bread
Stach
Stach has multiple locations through Amsterdam, but my favorites are definitely the one on the Haarlemmerstraat and Overtoom. They have a little sitting area and at the Overtoom location they just created a daily vegan salad bar where you make a do it yourself box, small 3,50 and a big one for 7,50. Add a cappuccino to that and you're good!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Vegan banana bread

Dignita
Dignita is one of my favorite brunch/lunch spots in Amsterdam. They recently opened a new location in "the Hoftuin" which is literally a five minute walk from my agency. The Hoftuin location is in the middle of a garden, which doesn't give you the Amsterdam vibe at all, kind of an escape from the city, while the other location - which is near by the Vondelpark - is on a road with a tram and cars coming by and gives you the perfect Amsterdam vibe.

Healthy stars: 3/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: buttermilk pancake stack

Cottoncake
Cottoncake is this little cute store/cafe based in the Pijp. They are mainly focussed on clothing, but also have a few tables where you can drink cappuccino's with toasted banana bread or get a juice with a delicious plant based sandwich in their all white painted cafe. Cottoncake is plant based and mainly Gluten Free, win win win!

Healthy stars: 4.5/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan
Recommendation: walnut banana bread
MOAK Pancakes
I'm not saying MOAK is unhealthy I'm not saying MOAK is healthy, but what I do say: you'll be satisfied when you go. You can call eating here, more like slaughtering some pancakes. Their toppings, their portions, everything is so worth the money! They even have vegan pancakes these days. Really into pancakes? they have a pancake stack worth 100EU with real gold, don't believe me? check out their page.

Healthy stars: 2.5/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan, meat, fish, vegetarian
Recommendation: The Heavy mama
C T Coffee & Coconuts
Coffee & Coconuts is based in the Pijp, where most of the cool cafe's are and Coffee & Coconuts is definitely one of them! The restaurant is based in this very high building where there are three different levels to sit at. The space feels very big, which actually feels really good when you're sitting down, no pressure to eat quick, because there is a huge waiting line!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: coconut pancakes
The Cold Pressed Juicery
The Cold Pressed Juicery really surprised me, since I always went to Juice brothers, ut finding out they had so many dishes as well like soups, raw wraps and salads made me super curious, and that was a really good thing to do! Their Raw Pesto Wrap was so good and finishing this off with that Bananoffee Parfait made my day complete. 100% recommended from my side!

Healthy stars: 5/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan
Recommendation: raw wrap or the Bananoffee parfait
The Meets
The Meets is based in the Pijp, one of the coziest areas in Amsterdam. They started off with breakfast and lunch, but now they also have a special evening dinner, which I'm dying to try out! Their pastries really didn't/t disappoint me and I can't wait to revisit soon again!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Their sweets

Vinnies
Vinnies is one of the first healthy spots I was going to in Amsterdam, this was back in 2015. Now they've opened another location with a bigger menu as well on the Haarlemmerstraat. Their first cafe is based on "the Nieuwezijdse kolk" which is the street next to the Kalverstraat, so when you're shopping it is super easy to hop in here and have some healthy warming food!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: always take a look at their daily salads on the counter
Cafe de Paris
Talking about de Nieuwezijdsekolk, on the opposite side you got Cafe de Paris/Metropolitan at the Rokin. Where you can get a French style breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can get French crepes, croissants and some jus d'orange or at night you can go for a good glass of wine paired with some oysters and sweet potato fries.

Healthy stars: 3.5/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: sweet potato fries!!!
Bagels&Beans
Talking about one of the healthiest hotspots in the Netherlands, than let's talk about Bagel&Beans! I used to go to this spot when I was a little tiny teenager and went shopping with my mom in the big city. Still Bagels&Beans is one of the easiest places I go to, because they are all located on perfect areas!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: salmon salad and the date pie
Hummus Bistro D&A
Down for sharing some food and trying out the whole menu card? Collect some friends, fill your wallet with some euro's and go to Hummus bistro D&A. Choose a hummus (if you even can) add some side dishes and start dipping! Ofcourse they do not only have hummus and pita so be prepared for a side range of middle eastern cuisine.

Healthy stars: 3.5/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: The roasted eggplant
Beter&Leuk
Beter & Leuk means better and happy in dutch, and it's definitely one of the better healthy food stops in Amsterdam, it is based a little bit further off from the centre in east but worths the visit! They even have a take away menu, and not feeling it to leave your house? You can order from Beter&Leuk on Ubereats, Deliveroo and Thuisbezorgd!

Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: the dutch weed burger.

Yoghurt Barn
When I was a little girl I was always so hyped about shopping and going to the Yoghurt Barn after. You pick the size, choose your yoghurt, add the toppings and your done, such a dutch thing! I've always (and still) wanted to try out their high tea or pick nick, but never got the chance to do it, but I've heard from a lot of people that it's a very good recommendation!
Healthy stars: 4/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Try also their Sharp Sharp pastries

Juice brothers
Juice Brothers is crowned for their best acai, probably in the Netherlands. Not only now in the Netherlands, but they also recently opened two juice bars in New York city. In some stores in Amsterdam you can also find the "van Leeuwen" ice cream, which is a 100% my favorite Dairy free ice cream brand from New York. I like this New York/ Amsterdam collab!

Healthy stars: 5/5
Menu: DF, GF, Vegan
Recommendation: their classic acai with a dot of almond butter

Sla
Sla is my ultimate easiest favorite hotspot, it's kind of like America's Sweetgreen, but maybe even slightly better! They have multiple locations through the Netherlands and some even have a breakfast bar where you can create your own porridge or smoothie bowl! I would say, too lazy to find a lunch spot? go to SLA you'll be a 100% satisfied for sure!

Healthy stars: 5/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Build your own, DAH

Lavinia Good food
Lavinia good food is based on the Kerkstraat but recently opened another location at the end of the Vondelpark. When I'm shopping in the city centre I mostly end up going to Lavinia, since it is so near all the shops! Their food is healthy but also very beautiful looking, they put a lot of effort in they way they make your plate look, and that's s something I really really appreciate of course!

Healthy stars: 4.5/5
Menu: DF, GF, fish, meat, Vegan, vegetarian
Recommendation: Lavinia's bowl
